  • Front cast iron sliding table The sliding table is cast iron and is precision machined and polished. The sliding table runs on (6) tapered precision bearings for smooth table movement without vibration. A cast-iron mitre gauge is mounted on the sliding table with an eccentric clamp. The mitre gauge can rotate +/- 45o. Sliding table dimensions are 39.4" x 10 ¼" and have a 37" stroke.
  • Conveniently located operator controls All controls are conveniently located at the front of the machine, just under the work table. Controls include emergency stop, spindle rotation reversing switch, spindle height adjustment handwheel and dial height gauge, and spindle lock.
  • Equipped with plug for power feeder and table is pre-drilled for feeder stand The SS512CSB shaper comes equipped with a quick-connect plug that can accept our Cantek DC power feeders. The advantage of having the feeder wired through the machine is that the feeder will stop when the emergency button on the shaper is pressed.
  • Finger type adjustable fence The infeed and outfeed fences are equipped with a finger-type fence which can be conveniently and quickly adjusted around the cutterhead. This minimizes the gap to provide added safety and increased stability when the part is being fed. The fingers are unlocked by an alum screw and can be quickly set in place where desired.
  • Interchangeable spindle with optional collet attachment The machine comes with (1) 1 ¼" interchangeable spindle and spacer set. The spindle is held in place by a nut and safety draw bar. Other spindle diameters and collet attachments are also available upon request
  • Powerful 7.5 HP motor with 5 spindle speeds The spindle is driven by a powerful 7.5HP motor with a 5-step pulley system allowing for spindle speeds of 3000/4000/6000/8000/10000 RPM. The speeds are quickly adjusted with a cam lever system. The spindle housing and motor plate are made from industrial cast iron for superior vibration damping for a superior finish and machine & bearing longevity.
  • Precision fence with micro-adjustment of infeed and outfeed fences The fence assembly is also made from cast iron, adding to the robustness of this shaper series. The infeed and outfeed fences can be micro metrically adjusted in and out by dial. The fence assembly can also be positioned in and out by releasing the locking handles. Two dust ports are included with the machine for the fence and table, providing superior dust removal. The table is pre-drilled to accept a power feeder
  • Precision Spindle Assembly with Table Rings The precision spindle assembly runs in (3) high-performance spindle bearings. The spindle is interchangeable, removable to allow for easy adaptation of additional spindles and collet attachment (available upon request). Equipped with an electronic braking system for safer operation and reduced changeover times. The table rings are removable to minimize the gap in the table according to the diameter of the cutterhead being used.
